Education: Manus x Machina

We are proud to present: The Manus x Machina programme. The programme is designed to challenge and push the practices of our New Order of Fashion talents, through the exploration of material, craft and machine hacking.

During the residencies, NOoF talents are tasked with the exemplary use of sustainable materials and circular design principles. Guidance is offered by experts from the New Order of Fashion network. Celebrated for their expertise in a specific discipline, they allow for sharing both traditional and contemporary inter-generational craft-knowledge.

Last summer we invited NOoF talents Nico Verhaegen and Julia Ballardt of Milk of Lime, to complete a Botanical Dying Residency with botanical dying experts Karin Waag and René van Eersel. Videographer Marica de Michele captured the residence in the video below.

Stay tuned for part II where the talents and experts collectively look back on their experience.
