LAB Atelier
A space for drawing, pattern and fabric cutting, sewing and embroidery. The atelier features both domestic and industrial sewing machines, overlockers, steam iron, 6-colour digital embroidery machine, plotter and heat press. We have various hand tools, fabrics and yarns from deadstock and post consumer origin.
Day fee - €20
Monthly fee - €250
The LAB Atelier is available for use by anyone who knows how to sew/can use the machines on an independent basis.
You must complete a short safety introduction by one of our members of staff prior to working in the Atelier. Please email lab@neworderoffashion.com to book an intro.
For self-directed access to the atelier space, the cost is €20 per day. This is paid by cash or card at the start of your session. It grants you access to the sewing machines, iron, heat press, plotter, various hand tools and embroidery machine. Alternatively, you can choose to pay a monthly membership fee of €250 per month for anytime access, Monday – Thursday 9am to 5pm.
Guidance
If you need an introduction to the embroidery machine, plotter or basic sewing machine skills, please indicate this in your booking email. For this you pay an additional one-time fee of €15.
For informal tips on basic sewing and garment construction, walk in Monday till Thursday from 9:00 till 17:00
For 1-1 guidance on sewing construction and project/garment development, create a booking on Thursday or Friday via lab@neworderoffashion.com. This costs €75 per hour.
Materials
For informal tips on materials to use in your work and craft techniques, visit Monday-Thursday to meet with Helen Milne who can help you with further information and references.
We do not have regular stock of fabrics or sewing notions available in the lab, you need to bring these yourself. We have small amounts of fabric for testing and repairs.
