Sam Bennett is a maker, design researcher, and educator and believes in slow research. She is currently embarking on a PhD at the Technology University of Eindhoven, exploring how repair can be used as a design methodology to explore our relationship to aging and caring communities through a research project called An Apple a Day. She also co-runs Repair Shop, which explores the line between object-based mending practices and other modes of “making do.” She likes making absurd maintenance tools and finds magic in the existing and the discarded.
