REKNIT WEAR is a workshop that invites participants to explore the possibilities of designing knitwear by deconstructing unwanted garments and reconnecting them in fresh, unexpected ways.
In a four hour workshop you’ll sketch ideas, experiment with patterns using pre-cut stencils, and choose knit materials sourced from Het Goed. Guided by Ioanna Stefanescu, participants will explore innovative ways of cutting, creating lace holes, and forming “connectors” to reconstruct garments into playful, wearable designs. The workshop will culminate with styling and trying on the newly created pieces, offering a reflection on how discarded knitwear can be transformed into something meaningful, unique, and personal.
No prior design experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment! Bring your own knits if you want to work with some of your pre-loved garments!

Ioana Stefanescu is a textile designer and researcher focused on sustainable fashion and material innovation. Recently graduated from TUe her work is focused on reworking and rethinking materials through experimental cutting, knitting, and connection techniques. Ioana’s practice blends craftsmanship and storytelling to explore new possibilities in textile design.
