Needle Felting Loom x Boldwool

Learn to use the needle felt loom and apply it to your designs. Experiment with layering and felting techniques to create your own samples. Explore the design possibilities and learn about the work of our partners BoldWool, and learn how you can start a collaboration with local textile production and farmers. Prior textile experience is not required, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

Talent Talks: Sybrand Jansen

Sybrand Jansen is a designer whose work moves between fabric development and pattern cutting, but at its heart is about transformation. Drawing inspiration from ancestral, nature-bound ways of making, he explores how these practices can find new meaning in today’s world. His designs balance refinement and rawness, often shaped by cycles of decay, repair, and renewal. Through projects such as his graduation collection inspired by The Lighthouse and his current collaboration with Indian weaving mill 7 Weaves, Sybrand develops systems of creation that respect the full life cycle of garments—embracing community, material histories, and the regenerative power of change.

During Wool: (Re)discovered at Dutch Design Week we presented The Regional Wool Project. This NOOF community project, traces fibres back to 25 sheep from the Strabrechtse Heide. Each maker either received raw wool from one sheep, or a cone of local wool. They transformed it through techniques such as spinning, knitting, felting, dyeing, and weaving. The project highlights how local fibres and handmade crafts can serve as an accessible entry point for engaging with regenerative textiles.
