New Order of Fashion is on the lookout for regenerative practitioners!

New Order of Fashion (NOOF) is an international platform for exceptional fashion and textile talent. We support sustainability in textile and fashion systems by presenting fresh and radical perspectives through innovation, experimentation and co-creation. Our goal is to fuel the industry’s transition toward fully circular and regenerative practices. In times of radical environmental, social, economic and cultural change, a collaborative approach is essential. Through exhibitions, activations, research and residencies, we strive to enrich the discourse around sustainable approaches to textiles and fashion, and to support those exemplary practitioners that are at the forefront of the sustainability revolution.

Every year, during Dutch Design Week —the biggest design event in Northern Europe —we present a new generation of the most forward-thinking textile and fashion talents. For the 2025 Dutch Design Week— 18-26 October —we will focus on the theme of regeneration, exemplified by deep diving into the material, environmental and cultural workings of wool.

About this year’s call

Regeneration is at the core of our philosophy. It is the process of regenerating, renewing or restoring something after it has been depleted, damaged or even completely lost. To successfully determine its meaning and potential for the textile and fashion profession, we are looking for textile and fashion talent who reflect upon the theme or preferably have developed (and implemented) regenerative design methodologies as part of their work.

Relevant aspects of regeneration NOOF is curious about: anthropology, biodiversity, community, decolonisation, (de-)extinction, ecology, ethical, holism, human non-human / more than human, indigenous, locality, multispecies, systemic.

We aim to platform a plurality of views and voices to collectively reflect on this topic. In addition to an environmental- or material-based approach, we welcome projects with a sociocultural and technological focus, specifically projects surrounding wool or that research the topic of animal well-being in relation to textile and/or fashion systems.
