Yun Xie

Past, present and future form the threads of Yun Xie’s MA graduation collection. Cross-historical and cross-cultural references seamlessly fuse together in Xie’s garments.

Those taking a close look, discover the (little) treasures of her life knitted throughout. From childhood photo’s to the names of those who were there along the way, even the hand of her 92 year-old grandmother take the stage. As much as the collection is about looking back it is about looking forward: Xie visually reflects upon a future in which human and environment re-connect and re-establish a tale of love and care. 

Yun is currently working as a knitwear designer at Missoni.
