Di Du

Di Du draws her inspiration from contemporary art and female artists. For her master collection SIP MY OCEAN, Di Du took inspiration from the sculptural works of Anna Uddenberg, an artist that started as a performance artist and explored the limits of sexuality. After having worked with darker moods in her work, this time Di Du chose a different, brighter approach, focussing on feminine empowerment by adding more pastel hues, feathers, more kitsch, stripper platforms, lingerie and clear clues of sportswear in every silhouette. The collection shows a lot of physicality in the sense of being simultaneously buff and femme. She worked with various types of materials with a contrast or mixture in touch from soft to hard. The use of lingerie fabrics and feathers together with cold and futuristic materials brings lightness and movement to her collection.
